Eyitayo Jegede, factional governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state, has expressed confidence that he will contest and win the election.
Okon Abang, a judge of the federal high court Abuja, had ordered the replacement of Jegede with Jimoh Ibrahim, who is of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party.
This prompted Jegede to ask the court of appeal to set aside the decision of the lower court and affirm him as the PDP candidate.
The court of appeal has adjourned the matter indefinitely following a petition against the panel of judges hearing the matter.

But addressing his supporters on Saturday, Jegede said he intended to build on the record of Olusegun Mimiko, the outgoing governor.
“Mark my words, we will contest and win this election,” he said.
“Let me tell you, this is not about Eyitayo Jegede alone, it is about the people of Ondo state, this is about good governance in our state, this is about continuation and improvement on the good things we have been enjoying in our state.”
