I’m committed to repositioning Ogun for growth, says Dapo Abiodun

Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun, says his administration is committed to providing a friendly environment and security for businesses to thrive in the state.

Abiodun spoke on Sunday, after receiving the 2023 Man of the Year Award from the Silverbird Group, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

He said the award is evidence of the efforts of his administration in repositioning the state for more economic prosperity.

The governor reiterated his commitment to build on the successes recorded during his first term in office.

He appealed to Nigerians to remain calm in the face of the current economic challenges, adding that President Bola Tinubu is working to find a lasting solution to the hardship.

Abiodun dedicated the award to the people of Ogun, civil servants, and his party, as well as to those who have supported him since the inception of his administration in 2019.

“Our administration in the last four and a half years, has transformed our vision into making the state the investor’s destination of choice,” he said.

“We have also successfully implemented people-oriented policies and carried out reforms to improve efficiency and service delivery, leading to the state being the most improved in Internally Generated Revenue in the country.

“We have implemented a multi-modal transportation plan and other infrastructure across the state.

“We have constructed over 500 kilometres of road, built over 3,000 affordable houses, renovated over 1,000 schools, and constructed our gateway international airport.”

Allen Onyema, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Air Peace, who presented the award to the governor, commended him for the accelerated development recorded in Ogun state since his assumption of office.

Onyema said the award was a reflection of the governor’s commitment to the development and the fundamental changes in the affairs of the state through the “building our future together” agenda.
