Brown Ideye says he remains open to a call-up to the Super Eagles squad.

The striker was a starter in the Super Eagles side that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa.

Ideye played his last game for the Eagles in October 2016. He played 73 minutes as Nigeria defeated Zambia 2-1 in Ndola in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

However, the 36-year-old recently returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NFPL) to join Enyimba. He was on target for the Peoples Elephant’s 4-1 victory over Black Bulls of Mozambique in the CAF Confederation Cup.

In a chat with Channels TV on Tuesday evening, Ideye said he is ready to return to the Eagles after eight years.

“For sure, I will jump on it because I’m not retired from international football yet. So why not? If I get called up to represent my country, I’m going to honour the invite, for sure,” he said.

Ideye is the third Super Eagles player who has returned to the NPFL for the ongoing season.

Ahmed Musa and Abdullahi Shehu joined Kano Pillars earlier in the campaign.
