Nigerians have been reacting to the resignation of President Jacob Zuma of South Africa.
Zuma stepped down following pressure from the ruling African National Congress (ANC).
Last year, Rochas Okorocha, governor of Imo state, honoured Zuma by erecting a statue in his honour.
Although he was criticsed over this, Okorocha defended his action. However, critics are back in action following Zuma’s exit.

Below are some reactions on Twitter:
It is such a shame that the Gov of Imo used the scarce state fund to erect the statue of Jacob Zuma for our children to look up to. No misgovernace is worse than obfuscation of the moral compass of our young ones.@segalink

Jacob Zuma resigns! Huge!! An African President forced to resign by his ruling party around corruption allegations! His peers around continent in confusion; corruption allegations repeated often enough usually cause removal of presidential term limits instead!

Like Thambo Mbeki before him, Jacob Zuma will have many roles and duties in Africa; the shit hole continent, including but not limited to being an election observer in Kenya. After all, this where the very best is found or send.

If the #BreakingNews from South Africa is true and #JacobZuma has indeed resigned then, #RochasOkorocha will not be happy with #ANC and #SouthAfrica . #ZumaResigns #Pretoria pic.twitter.com/hvglCgHJOS

Now that Jacob Zuma has resigned as SA President, can Rochas Okorocha of Imo see how stupid he was for that useless statue. 🤷🏽♂️

One positive aspect concerning the #JacobZuma era & resignation saga is that by the time it's all over, SA would have tested the metal of its constitution, strength of its parliament, independence of the judiciary & courage of its media. To that end JZ was "good" for democracy

Ten years after he engineered the recall of #ThaboMbeki, #JacobZuma suddenly sees the injustice of it all.#ZumaExit

History will not be kind to Rochas Okorocha.
How do you erect a statue in honor of a man that is regarded as the most corrupt person ever to rule South Africa?
What has Jacob Zuma contributed to Africa except more corruption?

After all the political uncertainty this week and #JacobZuma resigning, waking up to the sound of rain this morning was welcomed! It's like the rain is washing away all the weeks madness, to clear the way to shine a ray of sunshine on our beloved country. ☺

#JacobZuma continues to make his own unique history. Now he has united the ANC and the opposition, to remove an ANC President. #ZumaExit

Watching #JacobZuma on SABC saying the ANC hasn’t told him what he’s done wrong. This doesn’t sound like the prelude to resignation….
— Lindsey Hilsum (@lindseyhilsum) February 14, 2018
Opposition parties are in love with #JacobZuma, he is their key election ticket, if the #ANC leaves it to #MotionofNoConfidence, opposition will vote for him to stay in office and the ANC will suffer greatly in 2019. At least that should be one of the arguements in that meeting.

Rochas Okorocha must be thinking of what to name the ministry he is going to create for Jacob Zuma, since his hero has now resigned. pic.twitter.com/gtwOhrX3nL
