Aboki Danjuma, the commissioner of police in Imo, has vowed to arrest gunmen who killed two police officers and a Point of Sale (PoS) operator along Owerri-Orlu road on Monday.
The gunmen also reportedly killed two civilians during their sudden attack on the area.
The gunmen reportedly started shooting sporadically in the area at about 4 pm after robbing and killing a POS operator.
Reacting to the incident, the commissioner described the attack as “barbaric”, adding that the command’s tactical team has been charged to go in search of the said hoodlums and apprehend them.

The CP said no stone would be left unturned in ensuring the perpetrators are all arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
“This is a very unfortunate incident. The command has condemned in its entirety, the barbaric attack on some of our men on duty where two officers lost their lives,” he said.
“To this end, the command has ordered the Tactical Team to go all out in synergy with other sister security and clamp down on the hoodlums responsible for the attack and killing of one Police officer and two civilians along Owerri-Orlu road on 29/1/2024.

“We promise that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators are all arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
