Independence Day: Buhari to address the nation at 7am

President Muhammadu Buhari will, on Tuesday morning, address the country through a nationwide broadcast.

Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, disclosed this in a statement.

He said the broadcast is part of activities to commemorate Nigeria’s 59th independence anniversary celebrations.

“President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 7am,” the statement read.

“Television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.”

This will be Buhari’s first Independence Day broadcast in his second term.

In his inaugural Independence Day speech in 2015, Buhari said he was ready to turn around the fortune of the country.
