The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is all but set to declare Rotimi Akeredolu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the Ondo state governorship election.
Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is trailing Akeredolu by close to 100,000 votes, following the announcement of results from 17 of the 18 local government areas where voting took place.
Olusola Oke of the Alliance of Democracy (AD) looks set to finish in the third place, having so far secured less than half of Akeredolu’s votes.
