The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has distributed about 1.4 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Borno state.
Tommy Magbuin, public affairs officer of the commission in the state, disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Maiduguri on Thursday.
Magbuin said that the number represented about 70 per cent of the estimated two million registered voters in the state.
He said about 152,000 PVCs were still unclaimed at the INEC office in the state.

Magbuin said the commission had recorded tremendous successes in its quest to conduct a hitch-free poll in the state.
“We are still awaiting the PVCs for some areas in Maiduguri and Jere Local Government Area (LGA),” he said.
“The cards are expected to arrive any moment from Abuja as our vehicles are already waiting to bring them to Maiduguri as soon as they arrived.”
