As of August 11, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) had distributed 1,200,693 permanent voter cards (PVCs) to voters in Ondo state.
Olusegun Agbaje, resident electoral commissioner (REC) in the state, made this known at a press conference in Akure.
According to Agbaje, as of that date, 331, 078 PVCs were yet to be collected by their owners.
He said a total of 1, 531 771 PVCs were received in the state before the 2016 continuous voter registration.

Agbaje congratulated the political parties for the successful completion of their primary election, and advised politicians to have violence-free campaigns ahead of the poll.
“It is my belief that a peaceful campaign is a likely harbinger to conduct of a peaceful election,” he said.
Agbaje said the commission would make use of 3,009 presiding officers and 9,029 assistant presiding officers I, II and III for the election.

According to Agbaje, there are 3 009 polling units, with 203 registration areas in the 18 local government areas of the state.
