The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the names of gubernatorial candidates in Imo state.
Off-cycle elections are expected to be held in Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi states on November 11.
INEC released the list of affirmed candidates on Friday.
Dumebi Ifeanyichukwu, director-general of new media, Samuel Anyanwu campaign council, said the list proved that the PDP candidate is equipped for the task ahead.

“This goes a long way to prove that our governorship candidate, Sen Samuel Anyanwu, is well prepared for the task ahead,” Ifeanyichukwu said.
“While other guber candidates in the state are yet to pick their running mates, the PDP governorship candidate did not only forwarded the details of his running mate, Rt Hon Jones Onyereri, PhD but has set up a manifesto/strategic communication committee charged with the responsibility of articulating a people oriented program for his administration.

Anyanwu became the sole candidate in the guber race following the withdrawal of other aspirants including Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo.
Ihedioha said his decision to withdraw from the race is to ensure that there is unity in the state chapter of the party.
Anyanwu is expected to challenge Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo, who is seeking reelection on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
