BVAS BVAS

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the governorship and state house of assembly elections in Butura ward in Bokkos LGA of Plateau.

Announcing the development on Saturday, Oliver Agundu, the state INEC resident electoral commissioner (REC), said the postponement was due to a logistics problem.

Agundu said election materials such as ballot papers meant for the ward were taken to another LGA in error.

According to NAN, he said in order not to disenfranchise members of the community, the election in the area would now hold on March 19.

INEC had also postponed the governorship and state assembly elections in 10 polling units in Victoria Garden City (VGC) estate in Lagos state.

Segun Agbaje, INEC REC for Lagos state, said security concerns were raised by residents and the ad-hoc electoral officers deployed to the area.
