As part of its preparations to conduct the 2015 general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has redeployed its resident electoral commissioners (RECs) in the 36 states and the federal capital territory.
A letter dated December 24, 2014 and signed by Augusta C Ogakwu, secretary of the commission, stated that the resident electoral commissioners were directed to conclude all “handing and taking over” formalities by Wednesday, December 31, 2014.
Below is a list of the redeployed resident electoral commissioners and their new places of assignment.
