Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation, says he is confident that President Bola Tinubu will take Nigeria to its rightful place globally.

In a statement issued on Monday, Idris lauded Tinubu’s reforms and policies, describing them as “bold and unprecedented” and the right start to a lasting legacy.

He added that the president’s recent strings of foreign engagements has been a “grand entry onto the global stage” aimed at creating wealth and jobs for citizens.

On September 5, Tinubu departed Nigeria for the G20 summit in New Delhi, the capital of India.

At the summit, the president was vocal about removing bottlenecks and assured investors of profits under his watch.

Also, in his inaugural speech at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the UN headquarters in New York, United States, Tinubu said foreign exploitation and interference were among the reasons for Africa’s stunted growth.

Tinubu asked foreign nations to work with the continent in seeking solutions that would be mutually beneficial.

“I expect his diplomatic efforts to yield enduring fruit in the months ahead,” NAN quoted the information minister as saying.

Idris added that his colleagues are determined to support the president in achieving his goal.

“I can boldly assert that we stand on the threshold of a Nigeria that is a true global giant; a country that is able to fully exploit its immense potential energy of demographics, culture, and entrepreneurial dynamism,” he added.

“I have no doubt that my colleagues and I, under the leadership of the President, will step boldly forward, not backwards, from this historic threshold.

“We have a very busy last quarter of the year ahead of us. The administration will finalise and unveil its inaugural budget, which will set the tone for investors and other potential partners, about our priorities.”

Idris said his ministry would be critical to the success of “our national messaging”, adding that “we will give it everything required for our narratives to succeed”.

He said the narratives would be the ones that Nigerians would be proud of which would redesign the way the federal government engages with citizens at home and abroad, and with the world.
