Insecurity: FCT police commissioner orders clampdown on vehicles without number plates

Benneth Igweh, the federal capital territory (FCT) commissioner of police, has ordered a clampdown on any vehicle with single or no number plates.

In a statement, Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokesperson, said Igweh gave the order on Saturday when he met with the leaders of all tactical units and heads of departments of the command.

Adeh said those present at the meeting included area commanders and divisional police officers (DPOs).

The development comes on the heels of the worsening security situation in Abuja.

“He emphasized on the need to adopt effective community partnership in the discharge of their duties, as he will have zero tolerance for laxity,” the statement reads.
