Goodheart Ekwueme, the lead pastor of the Revival House of Glory International Church (RHOGIC), says the nation needs spiritual revival.
In a statement on Sunday to mark the seventh-year anniversary of the church, Ekwueme described the revival as “restoration of the values for life as prescribed by God’s word”.
The clergyman decried the state of insecurity, inflation, and economic challenges in Nigeria.
He said the high level of insecurity in the nation is as a result of people’s “lack of an experiential knowledge of God”.

Ekwueme said the situation in the country can be likened to a farmer who must prepare ahead for harvest when it is still raining.
He said the church’s seventh anniversary marks Nigeria’s time for breakthrough.
“The lack of an experiential knowledge of God is reflected in the dimension of kidnapping of children and monarchs alike as recently as the last few days. We are currently living in a time in Nigeria when there is no regard for life, whether it be of babies or kings,” the cleric said.

“Since our commissioning to carry the torch of revival to the nations, many have caught on to the move of God for these times, but I perceive many others still struggle with what revival means but also, what the value of the church is, in national life.
“Revival is a restoration of the values for life as prescribed by God’s word. These values administer the divine standards for a healthy relationship with God and our associations with one another.
“This harmony of man with God and man with man leads to a glorious existence on earth and sundry benefits to mankind. To birth this divine order, God has enabled us in the last 7 years, to create channels and platforms like ‘The Gathering’ – RHOGIC’s national altar of worship and prayer to God on behalf of Nigeria and several participating nations.
“We are also humbled by what God has been doing through the Global Prophetic Prayer Altar (GPPA); it is our flagship international prayer altar with reach in over 27 states of Nigeria and several countries and territories around the world.

“For these and several testimonies of impact and transformation, we are grateful and we ask you to thank God with us. Now, while these are noteworthy, they are not the crux of this conference.”
The cleric added that the church’s 2024 calendar of celebration has commenced with a 7-hour period of prayer and worship before God — one hour to represent each year.
“My friends, it is impossible to turn a blind eye to the sufferings of our countrymen but it would be wicked to stay silent, especially when we have the mandate of revival. Who can deny that Nigeria needs revival now? With our child and youth populations exploding, we are experiencing the short end of a stick that should be stirring growth and righteousness in the land,” Ekwueme said.
“The surge of crime, insecurity and ethno-religious fighting we are facing as a people, is being driven by the arms of children not in school, many abandoned to determine right from wrong by themselves and many more, simply amplifying the wrong values that the older generations have modelled to them.

“So let me tell you the news from heaven: it is time to turn Nigeria around. It is time and there are two factors for this turnaround.
“As Nigerians, we cannot afford to continue wishing something would change while we remain as we always have been. We have to rise up now because divinity is indicting a good matter regarding us BUT the season will not change our harvest, if we do not sow. A farmer who enjoys rains but does nothing in that season, cannot join others to reap the harvest due for that rain – it amounts to wasted resource.”
