Insecurity: We’ll overcome present adversity, Osun monarch assures Nigerians

Adekunle Makama, the olowu of Owu Kuta in Osun state, has assured Nigerians that the country will overcome its present adversity soon.

In a new year message on Saturday, the monarch asked citizens not to allow the present state of insecurity in the country to overwhelm them.

Makama said all hands must be on deck to take the country to a better place that everyone desires.

He commended the armed forces and other security agencies who are fighting to rid the country of insurgents and bandits.

Olowu also asked the national assembly to take a second look at the role of traditional rulers in terms of security and wellbeing of their subjects, adding that their roles in nation building cannot be over emphasised.

“Despite what we are passing through now, I know that with the resilience of our army and cooperation from the populace, there will be light at the end of the dark tunnel,” the monarch said.

“This is not the time to agonise and cry over spilt milk, but a time to come together and organise ourselves in order to confront the monster of insecurity running riots across the country frontally in order to achieve economic prosperity.
