Eight civilians have been reported dead following an attack on Kautukari, a community in Chibok LGA of Borno state.

A resident in the area told TheCable that several properties were set ablaze by the insurgents.

TheCable had reported how suspected fighters of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) overran the community on Tuesday evening.

The insurgents invaded the area around 6pm and started shooting, making residents flee into the bush for safety.
