Nizamiye Hospital in Abuja, in commemoration of the International Nurses Day, celebrated nurses for their valuable contribution to the development of the health sector in Nigeria.
The International Nurses Day is celebrated annually on May 12.
At an event organised by the hospital management, nurses were described as vital in the overarching objective of dispensing quality healthcare services.
Mohammed Abubakar, the hospital’s public relations officer, said since its inception, the hospital instituted a mechanism to ensure nurses in its employ are availed of necessary training in modern nursing techniques.

“Our nurses are a critical part of our establishment. We spare no cost in ensuring that they are provided with the right exposure and learning modules towards advancing skills,” he said.
He added that the role of nurses in healthcare delivery is vital, hence the need for sustained investments in building the capacity of nurses in the country.
