I decided to take a few minutes out today to give some words of encouragement to all my friends, especially friends in developing countries.
In as much as you are at liberty to migrate to any part of the globe you desire as long as you understand what the terrain requires, l will also like to happily announce to you that there are opportunities everywhere. The world is a global village right now and you can benefit from most opportunities irrespective of your location provided you have the right information and you know the rules.
Someone once said, if you take all the money in the world right now from the hands of different holders, pull it together in one pot, then share it equally to everyone in the world. In not too very distant future, the money will return to the hands of the previous holders in the same percentage as it was before. Simply put, some people understand how money and wealth works. Hence, the gap will continue to be there and movement across strata will continue to be based on the attention we pay to our knowledge of money.
Let me state at this point that I am neither rich nor poor. Also, I don’t envy the rich and l don’t despise the poor. I strive to be rich ethically and desire to uplift the poor. That is my philosophy of life. You have the absolute right to your own philosophy of life. I like reading biographies even if l don’t totally agree with the values of any personality but I seek to recognise what is useful to me that l can learn from the life of others.

Strive to put your resources to very good use. I always believe in the concept of when there is a will, there will always be a way. If you need to sacrifice some comfort to invest in your future, please do. Someone may be out there saying, I have no resource to invest which is understandable but please look inwards at ways of creating resources while also ensuring you are very wise about your spend on necessities – food, clothing and shelter.
I am not advising you to jump into deep waters of investment without knowledge. First educate yourself on your desired investment vehicle. You don’t have to go to a classroom to acquire knowledge. You can do it in the corner of your room. You don’t have to attend any paid training if you cannot afford to. There are so many free resources online. Don’t pay for what is free on Google because you are too lazy to look for the required information and read yourself. I personally will not invest in what I don’t understand even if an expert is guiding me. If I can’t understand the mechanism to my end goal, not for me even if an expert says it is profitable. Let that sink in please!

There are so many other examples and you can calculate the returns yourself. I am not advising you to buy any of these stocks because some stocks performed woefully during same period. I am not a Stock broker and not qualified to offer advise. I am an Investor just like any lay man on the street. I don’t trade daily stocks but a mid to long term investor though l follow markets daily. I don’t go by any Broker recommendations either. l do my own analysis and take responsibility for my decisions. This is just one of many SPVs to make your money work for you if you know what you are doing. There are so many other SPVs l personally know nothing about and you might be an expert in such.
I am aware of a Plot of land measuring 648sqm that sold for N1m in May 2020 and same Plot sold for N2.3m in June 2020. I am aware of another 600sqm Plot that sold for N1m in August 2020 and same Plot sold for N1.5m in September 2020. I am aware of a freehold apartment (not leasehold as you might expect) that sold for £9,425 in January 2018 and same is selling in November 2020 for £16,675 and all these examples are in Africa. I know of a house in UK that sold for £50K in 1996 and same house sold for £196K in 2007. I have intentionally given lower scale examples. There are so many awesome returns on large scale investments that may be out of the reach of many. Real estate appreciation trends in the right location are a money spinner but you need to know what you are doing.
This is not a marketing pitch to anyone but just sharing what may be beneficial to many of my friends. The ball is in your court on how you want to approach the future. Please feel free to share and make comments.
