Isa Gusau, special adviser on public relations and strategy to Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno state, is dead.
In a statement, the governor confirmed that Gusau died abroad on Thursday after battling a heart ailment.
“We regret to announce the death of Mallam Isa Gusau who until his death was the special adviser media to H.E Borno Governor Babagana @ProfZulum,” the statement reads.
“He died in the early hours of Thursday in a hospital outside the country after battling with a heart problem. Gusau was one of the aides appointed by Governor Zulum on being sworn in on 29 May 2019.”

Before his death, Gusau was a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, UK; the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations; the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) UK; the International Public Relations Association, UK and the African Public Relations Association.
He also served as the media adviser of Vice-President Kashim Shettima during his tenure as the governor of Borno.
Before his foray into public relations, Gusau worked with Daily Trust, where he reached the position of deputy editor, before his resignation in 2012.
