ISIS hacks Twitter, Youtube accounts of US central command

A group claiming to be the Islamic state of the Levant and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) has hacked into the United states Central Command (Centcom) Twitter and Youtube accounts.

The hack, which was carried out on Monday, saw the Centcom Twitter account tweeting feeds on behalf of the Islamic state.

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, the CyberCaliphate continues its CyberJihad,” the Centcom Twitter feed said.

Some of the documents posted appeared to list names and phone numbers of members of the military as well as PowerPoint slides and maps, as the group said; “We won’t stop, we know everything about your wives and children.”

The group went on to post on the Centcom Twitter account, many odd tweets and images promoting their ideals and beliefs.

“Pentagon networks hacked! China scenarios and Pentagon networks hacked. Korean Scenarios,” the Tweets read.

The group sent out a clear message to American soldiers by telling them to watch their back, stating that ISIS was coming for them.

According to BBC, the hack happened as President Barack Obama was preparing a major speech on cybersecurity.
