Lanre Issa-Onilu, the director general of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), says the tax reform bills will eliminate double taxation and support low-income earners.

He spoke during a press conference in Osogbo, Osun state, on Friday.

Issa-Onilu, who was represented by Olubukola Olorunfemi, the agency’s director of community outreach and development, said the government recognises that the proposed tax has been a source of concern for many Nigerians on issues such as multiple taxation and its impact on low-income earners.

However, Issa-Onilu said the intention of the government regarding the tax reforms is to make the tax system fairer and less burdensome for citizens.

“By supporting this effort, we can create a tax system that works for all and funds the development projects that will improve our nation.”
