Fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have allegedly killed ten residents in Dogsa village in Yobe state.
The residents were said to have been killed on Thursday evening while searching for one Shettima Dawi.
Dawi went missing after leaving home to get firewood.
According to Zagazola Makama, a publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the bodies of the deceased were recovered and buried on Friday afternoon.

Immediately after the burial rites, the insurgents arrived at the village and told residents that they should leave the village.
Prior to the incident, sources told the publication that the insurgents had warned residents not to inform security operatives about their presence in the village, adding that residents need not worry.
The insurgents were said to have later planted improvised explosives devices (IEDs) within the general area to further fortify the area from attacks.

“The police command urged the communities in the affected areas to remain calm and report any suspicious movement, persons or objects to the nearest security formation for prompt action.”
