The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ifo unit command, has pleaded with the Ogun government to fix deplorable roads in the state.

Joseph Akinsanya, FRSC, Ifo unit commander, stated this in an interview with NAN in Sango-Ota, Ogun state, on Thursday.

According to Akinsanya, the poor state of roads is a major challenge hindering FRSC personnel from effectively discharging their duties.

“This development also [prevents] us from getting to accident scenes early sometimes, thus resulting in loss of lives,” he said.

“We are appealing to the government to fix bad roads in Ifo area to reduce the discomfort experienced by motorists.”

Akinsanya also asked that there should be rehabilitation works on routes connected to major roads within the state to reduce traffic buildup.

He added that the FRSC is committed to ensuring the safety of lives and properties on the roads, and advised motorists to cooperate with traffic personnel to reduce gridlock.

In 2019, TheCable reported how lawyers under the aegis of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ota branch, complained over the deplorable condition of roads causing delays and discomfort to legal practitioners and residents in the state.

Meanwhile, the present administration is currently working on rehabilitating some roads across the state.
