The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) says it has commenced investigation into a cargo aircraft operated by Allied Air that crash-landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja (NAIA) on Wednesday.

The aircraft, with registration number 5N-JRT, crash-landed after one of its landing gears failed at about 10:00am with six crew members on board.

In a statement on Facebook, Bimbo Oladeji, NSIB director, public affairs and family assistance, said no fatalities to the crew or ground personnel have been reported, but the aircraft sustained significant damage.

“Emergency response teams were promptly deployed to the scene to ensure the safety of all personnel and secure the site,” the NSIB said.
