Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, says his administration will resist any attempt to derail the “prevailing peace and security of lives and property” in the state.
In a statement issued on Friday, Ismaila Isah, Ododo’s special adviser on media, said the governor spoke during an interactive session with youths and student leaders at the government house in Lokoja, the state capital.
Isah said Ododo ordered the immediate payment of bursaries to all students from Kogi in higher institutions of learning across the country.
He also directed immediate payment of all subvention arrears to youths and student associations in the state.

The governor said he would resist any attempt to instigate violent protests in any part of the state under any guise.
He asked security agencies to arrest and prosecute anyone found responsible for any form of public misconduct that can negatively impact the peace and security of lives and property in the state.
Ododo urged the youths not to allow themselves to be used by “enemies of the state”, who he said have no stake in the progress and development of Kogi.
