The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun has condemned the removal of Kayode Ijaduola, the vice-chancellor of the University of Ilesa.
Oluwole Dada, the registrar, and Adedokun Ojelabi, the librarian, were all sacked by Ademola Adeleke, the governor of the state.
In a statement, Tajudeen Lawal, acting chairman of the APC in the state, described the action of the governor as reckless and illegal.
Lawal said the governor is “politicising the appointments of principal officers of a citadel of learning”.

“The process of the appointment of the new principal officers of the Ilesa University is crude, illegal, and stinks to high heavens as it would be an impossible utopia for it to surmount legal firepower in any court of law,” he said.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the governor appointed Taiwo Asaolu, a professor of accounting and finance, as the vice-chancellor of the institution.
Funso Ojo was appointed as registrar, Mukaila Oyekanmi as the bursar, and Adewale Ogunsipe as the librarian.

The University of Ilesa was established by Gboyega Oyetola, the immediate past governor of the state, on March 31, 2022.
The institution was formerly known as the College of Education, Ilesa until it was upgraded to a university by Oyetola.
