Iwobi fires Arsenal to victory

Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi scored Arsenal’s second goal in a 2-0 spanking of Brighton at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Iwobi, who got back in the Arsenal midfield and replaced Mohamed Elneny, got on the score sheet.

The first half was an enjoyable one between two neat footballing sides.

Nacho Monreal drove Arsenal into the lead in the 16th minute when he capitalised on the chaos in the penalty area.

Alexis Sanchez picked the ball up on the edge of the area and Alex Iwobi got into space behind him, which led to the Chilean backheeling the ball into the Nigerian’s path.

He drove it high past Ryan to double Arsenal’s lead in the 56th minute.

Theo Walcott came on for the Nigerian forward who netted Gunners second goal in the 71st minute.
