Alex Iwobi, Super Eagles forward, has been cleared to feature in Nigeria’s game against Lesotho after his second COVID-19 test returned negative.
Players and staff members of the Super Eagles took mandatory coronavirus tests on Monday ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match on Tuesday evening.
TheCable reported on Saturday, that the Everton forward had tested positive for the virus which sidelined him from featuring against Benin Republic in Porto Novo.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), however, announced that Iwobi’s second coronavirus test returned negative in a tweet on Tuesday morning.

In a follow-up tweet, the federation said the 24-year-old, who went into isolation immediately after he tested positive, has been given the green light by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to feature in the game against Lesotho.
