Alex Iwobi put up an impressive performance in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Hull City on Saturday.
But Alexis Sanchez was the star of the match. He scored a scrappy opener and a late penalty to give the Gunners a deserved three points in the competition.
Kieran Gibbs’ shot from a crowded area was blocked by Andrew Robertson on the line, but Sanchez pounced on the loose ball, and prodded it back towards the post. Eldin Jakupovic blocked the ball, but it ricocheted off Sánchez’s hand into the net.
That gave Arsenal a lucky lead in the 34th minute.

Sanchez scored from the same spot in the 90th minute, to secure the three maximum points for the Gunners.
Sanchez has had a hand in six goals in three premier league appearances against Hull City (five goals, one assist).
With 17 goals this season, Sánchez is the leading scorer in the premier league.

Saturday’s game can not be regarded as the most convincing performance from the hosts at the Emirates, considering the fact that Arsenal came into the clash on the back of two damaging defeats.
Arsenal are now third on the premier league table.
The club has won seven of their last eight premier league meetings with Hull (D1), since losing their first such game against the Tigers in September 2008 (1-2 at the Emirates).
