Iwobi plays no part as Arsenal thrash Everton 5-2

Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi was an unused substitute as Arsenal defeated Everton 5-2 at the Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.

Wayne Rooney’s strike from distance had put Everton ahead, but Nacho Monreal’s effort five minutes before half-time brought Arsenal level in the 40th minute.

Mezut Ozil to flick a header beyond Jordan Pickford for Arsenal’s second goal in the 53rd minute while Alexandre Lacassete curled the ball past Pickford for the Gunners’ third in the 74th minute.

Jack Wilshere played a lovely through ball for Aaron Ramsey who struck the ball home to make it 4-1 in the 90th minute.

Monreal under-hit a backpass and Oumar Niasse prodded the ball past Cech for Everton’s second goal in injury time.

After searching all game, Sanchez got his goal as he weaved his way into space before firing into the bottom corner in the 95th minute.

Arsenal are now fifth on the EPL table.
