Candidates share 'harrowing' experiences during 2023 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has adjusted the date for the 2025 mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The board, in a statement to the press, said the mock exam has been moved from April 5 to 10, 2025.
The board said the rescheduling aims to finalise preparations, implement new innovations, and accommodate the increased number of examination centres for this year’s exercise.
Originally set for Saturday, April 5, the mock exam will now take place on Thursday, April 10.

The main UTME will commence on April 25.
JAMB said the decision aligns with global best practices and recent research on examination methodologies in the region.
It said candidates are advised to await further announcements on the printing of their mock notification slip, which will contain details of their examination centre.

This year, JAMB introduced a trial-testing mock examination for underage candidates.
It said any candidate who would not be 16 years old as of September 30, 2025 would not be eligible to sit the 2025 UTME.
This came as JAMB sought to appeal a landmark ruling that nullified its minimum age policy around tertiary school admissions.
