Registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) will commence on January 31.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), in its weekly bulletin released on Monday, said the date was decided on January 24 during a roundtable meeting with participating financial institutions and other stakeholders.
The meeting was held virtually and chaired by JAMB’s director of finance and accounts Mufutau Bello.
Bello said UTME registration will close on March 5 across all JAMB-accredited computer-based testing (CBT) centres nationwide.

Stating other important dates, he said expression of interest for JAMB’s 2025 mock UTME would close by February 23 while the actual registration would end on March 8.
The director stated that the mock UTME would come up on April 5.
He said the main UTME would start on April 25 and end on May 5.

For Direct Entry, sales of application documents would start by March 10 and close by April 7.
The director stressed that the registration exercise would be restricted to only JAMB’s professional registration centres (PRCs).
Bello said JAMB has introduced a trial-testing mock examination for underage candidates starting in 2025.
“This window, according to the director, is necessary as any candidate who would not be 16 years old as of 30th September 2025 would not be eligible to sit the 2025 UTME,” the director was quoted as saying.

“They can, however, participate in the mock UTME as a hands-on experience before their full participation once they come of age.”
Bello said candidates must specify the type of e-PIN they require at the point of purchase of their UTME application documents, as there would be no refund after purchase.
He said there would be four categories of e-PINs vending for the exercise depending on the interest and financial capability of individual candidates.
These include the “Mock Only Trial Testing” for underage candidates at N3,500, the Direct Entry application at N5,700, the UTME only without mock-UTME at N7,200, and UTME with mock-UTME at N8,700.
