JAMB withdraws 2016 admissions list, asks candidates not to panic

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has withdrawn the list of recommended candidates for admission earlier sent to the tertiary institutions.

Fabian Benjamin, spokesman of the board, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday.

“This is to ensure that the University Senate perform its statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Hon Minister of Education at the policy committee meeting,” the statement read.

“The earlier list was sent to help fast track the process of admission so as to allow other tiers of institutions also conduct their admission.

“Candidates should not panic because this is part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise. JAMB regrets any inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions.

  3. It is quite frivolously vexatious how a few select persons in our country Nigeria consistently wallow in inky blankness and bottomless emptiness when it come to making cogent and sensitive decisions affecting the lives of millions of Nigerians. What an anathematious disdain for its citizenry. The current confusion that has engulfed the education sector of our country is at a stratospheric degree. How can the spoke person of JAMB just tell the public they have withdrawn a list they without any compunction sent to institutions of higher learning in the country without letting the public know what now lie in wait of the very many Nigerian youths seeking admission in Universities of their dreams? What is the way forward, are universities going to conduct Post-utme or the scrapping of Post-utme remains valid? I should have traveled home to see my parents by now but for this unnecessary confusion from the powers that be. Let the Honorable(I doubt though) Minister for Education Adamu Adamu please come out and address this ugly development with the speed of light so i can know my fate. I’m just so sad that the corruption in University Post utme has denied me admission for eleven(11) years. Let the Minister take a solid stand and end current hullabaloo bedeviling 2016/2017 admission process…

  4. Must all these happen in this administration, Jamb should have known their jurisdiction before this national embarrassment, let us lead by example

  8. pls I scored 178 in my jamb and I choose accounting/accountancy as my curse pls will I get admission into uni or poly? it’s Benue state university and Benue state polytechnic

  9. Jamb should know their jurisdiction before embarking on what they won’t keep, it’s an official child’s play that Jamb withdraw released result, a country like Nigeria, am a partaker of all this mess, I gained admission, we all preparing for the fee, before the Shocker of the year’ Oh Jamb!, what’s our fate?

  10. Oh! What a shameful development. It is actually not a good news, too sad. I pray God,that it is a rumour,or better still a dream. It is quite a pity,my fellow candidates…
Stop panicking, God who brought you success in your jamb, will still bring you success even in their so called “utme”. For me, what I know is that “no circumstance can ever lead to my failure,Amen. I therefore, urge all of us to start reading with a fast speed and leave the rest for God. Incase,we will still write any post utme for this year, let God help us…anything can still happen…”the only constant thing in this world is CHANGE”. We need a change for better and not the buhari’s election type of change to worse. To the minister of education sir,Adamu Dibu. It is not goodooo…what a disappointment and whole lot of shame to the federation. Pls you must do something. For the VC of university’s, pls pity your children for the confusion, stop taking challenge with the minister of education and ruling our destiny…we are the future of tomorrow. Let us agree on one decision as one nigeria, for a better Tomorrow. In a nutshell, we plead that the post utme of this is year is finally cancelled because of the outstanding situation. We cannot start reading now! Except you insist, we do not have an option. But you must make the questions cheap if you dont want deliberate massive failures.
finally, make a quick announcement on whether we are writing post utme or not, for a “try quick preparation as well. Please help us in a way for our own advantage, instead of disadvantage.
God bless you all,as you see to our consideration. Thank you.
