Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Australian Open title on Sunday afternoon, dispatching Alexander Zverev in the final.
The world No. 1 comfortably defeated the second seed 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-3 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne in the men’s final.
The 23-year-old Italian tennis player, who goes home with prize money of $3,500,000, secured his second Australian Open title and third Grand Slam overall, cementing his position as a dominant force in the tennis world.

Sinner’s win marked a significant milestone in his career. He became the fifth man in the Open Era to win three consecutive hard-court Grand Slam singles titles.

He joined an elite group of tennis legends that includes Roger Federer (five successive 2005-07), Novak Djokovic (three in a row in 2011-12 and 2015-16), Ivan Lendl (1985-87), and John McEnroe (1979-81).
Sinner’s achievement also made him the youngest player to defend his Australian Open crown since Jim Courier in 1992-93.
