Adetola Juyitan, president of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria, says the organisation is ready to partner with the Kwara government in facilitating leadership training for members of the state executive council and its lawmakers.

Juyitan spoke during a courtesy visit to Kayode Alabi, the state’s deputy governor, in Ilorin at the weekend.

According to her, the initiative would strengthen leadership capacity in the state to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

“We are willing and ready to assist Kwara State because we believe this would go a long way in steadying the administration to serve the people better,” she said.

“We would support the government at all levels towards achieving success because this is one of our cardinal principles.”

Alabi applauded the commitment and leadership qualities exhibited by Juyitan in propagating the ideals of non-governmental organizations.

“This will help a great deal to motivate the younger ones and I charged you to continue in your drive to support the youth by organizing series of skill acquisition programmes that would get them engaged. I also pledge total support for you in our administration’s determination to reduce the menace of unemployment among youth in the state,” the deputy governor said.

Prior to meeting with Alabi, Juyitan was received by senior members of the JCI Nigeria in the state, who include Adekunle Samson, 2019 national vice-president (South West 1) and JCI Nigeria ambassador; Jimoh Yusuf, JCI Nigeria president; Raimi Akanbi, JCI senator and the 2019 JCI Kwara president; the JCI Ilorin Protem president and other JCI members in Kwara.

The JCI Nigeria president also visited the Kwara state house of assembly where she met with Raphael Adetiba, deputy speaker, and principal officers of the assembly.

“JCI Nigeria will support the Kwara State House of Assembly by providing top notch trainers that can train members on parliamentary procedures as we share the same meeting procedures,” she said, after which an interactive session followed.

Juyitan decorated Alabi and Adetiba with JCI Nigeria honorary ambassadorship as other principal officers of the house of assembly got JCI-branded gifts.
