Jimoh resigns as speaker of Kogi state assembly

Momoh Jimoh, speaker of the Kogi state house of assembly, has resigned.

Jimoh’s resignation was announced on the floor of the house on Tuesday.

Ali Akuh, deputy speaker, who read Jimoh’s letter of resignation, said the speaker’s decision is in the best interest of the state.

Umar Ahmed Imam replaced Jimoh as the new speaker of the assembly.
