Jonathan appoints Tukur Ambassador-at-Large

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the immediate past chairman of the ruling PDP, as Ambassador-at-Large.

Announcing the appointment in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the ministry of foreign affairs said Tukur, as an envoy, will be “assigned special duties by the president’’ under the new appointment.

The statement chronicled the former PDP chairman’s achievements in public and private service.

Tukur served as the general manager and chief executive of the Nigerian Ports’ Authority (NPA) from 1975 to 1982, and governor of the then Gongola State in 1983.

  1. Haba, Tukur again! Is he not the current chairman of the Nigerian Railway Corporation? How come again the Ambassador-at-large? Is he jettisoning the former to pursue the latter? Sorry for the many questions at a time. These paddy paddy appointments of this PDP Government would not take the party anywhere. It’s like Mr. President really wants to over feed the Cabals in the circuit in order to actualise the 2015 project. This is not fair O.
