Thabo Mbeki, the immediate past president of South Africa and Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former Nigerian head of state, held a closed-door meeting with Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday.
The meeting comes less than 24 hours after both men met with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
Just as was the case with Sunday’s meeting, details of the meeting with the trio remain sketchy, as none of them addressed reporters who thronged Buhari’s office at Jabi road, Kaduna, where it held.
However, it is believed that both meetings were aimed at fostering peace with respect to the election and its aftermath.

Earlier, both presidential aspirants joined other candidates to sign a peace accord, chaired by Abudulsalami, as part of their ciommitments towards a violence-free poll.
Mbeki, who has been in the country for some days, received the Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership award from the Obafemi Awolowo foundation in Lagos on Friday.
