President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Mrs. Roli Bode-George — wife of former national vice chairman (south-west) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) — as the director-general of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
According to an announcement by Dr. Reuben Abati, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Mrs. Bode-George takes over from Mr Olufemi Ajayi, who is now the executive secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), “with immediate effect”.
Earlier in November 2011, Jonathan nominated Roli onto the board of the National Population Commission.
Although she was eventually cleared by the senate, APC senators from Lagos — the state from which she was nominated — were the ones most opposed to her confirmation, saying she was not an indigene of the state.

Bode-George attended Corona School Ikoyi, Lagos, Federal Government College, Lagos, University of Benin, and University of Liverpool.

Up Nigeria!!! There is nothing new under the sky. I just hope one day Daemons would not be called upon to superintend over the affairs of Government’s establishment. I think madams’s appointment at this material time and the sensitive nature of the post she is placed is inappropriate considering the ‘outstanding records’ of her husband.
