President Goodluck Jonathan has paid special tribute to the medical personnel who risked their lives in trying to save Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American who brought the Ebola virus to Nigeria.
The index case was admitted at the First Consultant Hospital, Obalende, Lagos, on July 20, where doctors battled to save his life.
He died on July 25 ─ but only after infecting 11 other persons, including doctors, nurses and other patients at the hospital.
Jonathan, represented by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, at the 2014 World Humanitarian Day in Abuja, also condoled with the families of the dead.
