Chidoka sworn in as aviation minister

Former corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Osita Chidoka, has resumed office as the new minister of aviation.

He was sworn in by President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday morning, shortly before the commencement of this week’s version of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

In the place of Chidoka at the helm of FRSC, Jonathan upgraded the deputy corps marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, to the status of corp marshal.

Also, a former lecturer at the University of Abuja, Dr. Suleman Abubakar, was sworn in as the new minister of national planning, and he will also function as deputy chairman of the National Planning Commission.

At the swearing-in, Jonathan urged the new ministers to deplore their competence into the realisation of the federal government’s transformation agenda.

Similarly, he urged Oyeyemi to justify his elevation, considering that previous FRSC heads were appointed from outside the commission.

Chidoka takes over from Stella Oduah, who was forced to leave office in February following sustain public condemnation and indictment by a presidential panel for the N255m purchase of two bulletproof cars.

  1. The whiz-kid Osita changed the face of FRSC within 7years by bringing about radical dynamics that rapidly transformed the system. The Aviation Ministry, no doubt, would benefit bountifully from his exceptional managerial portfolios and intelligentsia. He is a whole bundle of capacity and enterprise. Oga, please avoid anything bullet-proof in Aviation Ministry O! Congratulations,Ike Obosi.
