Jonathan and wife spotted in Kenya

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is currently in Kenya on a three-day tour of a game reserve, according to Daily Nation published in the east African country.

The newspaper said Jonathan, who was accompanied by his wife and two children, refused to address the press on his arrival in Narok, a county in Kenya.

Samuel Tunai, governor of the county, was said to have received the former president who reportedly flew in two private commercial planes, one carrying Kenya state security and the second with him and family members.

He is said to be on the trip to witness the wildebeest migration.

“We have received Mr Jonathan, King Mswati III, a Chinese prominent family and we are expecting other royalties,” Nicky Fitzgerald, owner of the tourist centre, reportedly told Jonathan.

Last month, Reuben Abati, spokesman of the former president while in office, hinted that the immediate-past president of Nigeria was not ready for any public comment.

“There are request from those who want interviews with President Jonathan, both local and international – they want his reaction on every development, so many from every part of the planet. But he is resting and has asked me to say he is not ready yet to say anything,” Abati wrote in his first piece since he left government.
