Jonathan: Without sacrifice, we will never see the Nigeria of our dreams

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has advised Nigerians to put the love of the country above personal interests.

He said that this would make the “Nigeria of our dreams” possible.

In his goodwill message to Muslim faithful, Jonathan cited the example of Ibrahim who was willing to sacrifice his son.

“Let us imbibe Ibrahim’s ideals and put Nigeria first in all we do. I salute the Muslim Ummah this Sallah. Happy Eid-El-Kabir,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Without self-sacrifice, we will never see the Nigeria of our dreams and will always think ‘what about me’ instead of ‘what about Nigeria’.

“On Eid-El-Kabir, we honour Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son. This must teach us that we must all sacrifice for Nigeria’s greatness.”

  1. President GEJ – I suppose you are the man of the house. Your wife claim to be the owner of over 31 million dollars found in skype bank. You need to let the public know how she made this money. You are one with your wife. What belong to her also belong to you.please explain to Nigeria people. Be the example you want to see.

  2. Dame Patience Jonathan made that money from her house keeping allowance and security votes and travel allowances when she was risking her life going over the world to shore up Nigeria’s image and show what a wonderful first Lady Nigeria had. This attracted a lot of foreign investments and development funds that kept Nigeria’s economy so strong and the Naira a strong currency. I am sure Federal Government is owning our former First Lady. They should pay her and make sure she is getting her 3.1 Million USD every year until she leaves this world.

    1. Daddykarris;
      I don’t know if you are the spoke person for Patience Jonathan, but this is a serious matter than affect 270 million Nigerians. If GEJ should play humble, nice and caring about Nigeria future, he need to explain to us how his wife get all these money. I did not hear when she was working and making dollars in any country abroad. Jonathan himself said corruption was not Nigeria problem and any one can see from all areas that corruption is really Nigeria problem. I think EFCC should lock GEJ and his wife up for the suffering of Nigerians today. This is a big evidence.
