President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday night worshiped at the monthly Holy Ghost Night at the Redemption Camp, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Jonathan, who earlier in the day campaigned in his home state, Bayelsa, ahead of next Saturday’s presidential election, addressed the congregation after 11pm, asking them to pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria.
Dressed in a light green flowing gown, the president said he was not there for political campaign but only wanted to thank members of the church for their prayers for Nigeria.
He later knelt as he was prayed for by Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, who asked for divine wisdom for the president in piloting the affairs of the country.

Two weeks ago, the president also worshiped at the Living Faith Ministries aka Winners Chapel, in Ota, Ogun state, where Bishop David Oyedepo prayed for him in what later created a storm on the social media in which the pastor was wrongly accused of threatening to open the gates of hell against opponents of the president.
The running mate of Muhammadu Buhari in the February 14 presidential election, Yemi Osinbajo, is a pastor in the Redeeemed Christian Church of God.
Before the 2011 elections, Jonathan also worshiped at the church.

Why should pastors intervein in politics?
The way we meddle politics with religion is very dangerous for our fragile democratic institution. I hope we are able to separate state from religion one day.
Why are we so fooled by the northerners. Check ur constitionn it is more of a islamic constitionm without a single mention of Jesus or church but overloaded with sharia codes, mohamed, islam etc. I am a northerner and know that why the south and the west are fooled is because they don’t understand this country and her politics. If the president seeks the support of his southern christians, it should be regarded as an abuse of politics. Go and learn from sudan and iraq.
The will of Jesus alone shall be done over this nation Nigeria. May He grant by mercy the desires of the righteous
The President should sit in his office and pilot our affairs in a Godly way. It is one thing to attend churches likes he has been doing and another to allow the God lead him in his actions which is something he has not been doing. Corruption alone in his govt will bring him down and no amount of propaganda will save him
How come he is yet to attend CAC, Choosen, Cele etc? Are they not Christians too? Never has any president divided us along religion and ethnic lines the way this one has done. Nigerian pastors should put a stop to this madness.
It is dangerous that Gen Buhari expects a landslide victory. If he does not win, and many analysts and ordinary voters can see that occurring, his responses indicate he would not accept that result. Nigeria 2015, like most voting countries, shows an election split into 3 sections – i) areas where GEJ has a strong lead, ii) areas where Gen Buhari has a strong lead, and iii) areas that are marginal for both sides. A broad categorization of Nigeria would indicate: NORTH WEST – Buhari; NORTH-EAST – Buhari but with GEJ capable of retaining at least one or two states in the North-East (Adamawa & Taraba); NORTH-CENTRAL – GEJ but with Buhari likely to win 2 states; SOUTH-EAST – GEJ, SOUTH-SOUTH – GEJ, and SOUTH-WEST – the swing states with all 6 being highly contested, but with the recent endorsement of GEJ by SDP, ACCORD, UPN & LP in those South-Western states (ACCORD & LP are no push-overs in Oyo State, SDP is very strong in Ogun & Ondo, Ekiti & Ondo are already PDP), it is getting obvious where the pendulum is titling. ….. But despite all this, Buhari expects to win. If he loses he will cry foul and call on his Jihadist brothers to help him cause even more death and destruction than they have already. I am not optimistic about the future of Nigeria. General Buhari made that statement for two very simple reasons. 1), After three unsuccessful runs, this is the last and best chance for power-hungry Buhari to win Nigeria’s presidency. He will be too old try again the next time around and no party will choose him as candidate. 2). He is, in effect, warning Nigerians that “if I do not win, it will mean that the election was rigged and we will be justified to make Nigeria ‘permanently ungovernable.’ So, the choice is yours, elect me and have peace or reelect Jonathan and we shall expand Boko haram to the rest of Nigeria”. Complete Nonsense!. Nigerians know too well and will still vote in Goodluck for his good word in transforming Nigeria, #FailBuhari #GEJ4Naija
I think all this talk of victory will not help the APC at all. We know that APC and the so-called press are behind this. The earlier they become realistic the better. They are looking for ways of causing trouble if and when they lose the election. What is wrong with PDP that they too are not seeing the handwriting on the wall.
Stop daydreaming my friend.I am very sure you are one of those corrupt people who are benefiting from these regime …you would be put shame sooner rather than later.
Who is day dreaming, urself or who?this guy really speak my mind with his analysis because wht’s on ground shows that APC & Buhari are bunch of noise makers, a calabash that can’t hold water. Jonathan all the way. Sai Jonathan.
Our president have turn to a pro******* of religion from Ota to redeem to ijesha finally to mosque then to IFA place all this cannot save u. we need a change.
God is in control of everything
It is very unfortunate that our past leaders have not taken cognizance of how to better the life of the people they governed. They have collapsed every sectors of the economy while laundering money out of the country. The present government rather than facing the realities and leave power for his lack of performance, he is campaigning to come back for second term. What is he coming to do again? Standard of Education is nothing to right about, health sector is worse, how about Power sector, None of our refineries is working. Please help tell Mr President to leave the office for a change. Most people that comments are not always objective or may be because they chopping from them. Anyway, whether he likes it or not God will remove him from office in 2015.
Desperation can make a once sane or partially sane man look insane. Something/s is/are eating GEJ up as it pertains to leaving Aso Rock. Moving from church – church(RCCG, WINNERS, CHOSEN etc) gives, if it truly bothers on seeking the face of God other than campaigning, the impression that there are different kinds of Gods that he needed to seek to help him turn the tide at all cost. The only constant thing in life is Change’. That knowledge should make PDP-GEJ relax take whatever comes out of the election.
If it were to be APC’s – GMB that is going from one mosque to another there would have been an outcry by same group PDP-GEJ that Buhari has gone to shopping for BOKO HARAM or fundamentalists. “There is God o”.
