The Southern Kaduna Journalists’ Forum (SKJF) has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving a federal university and a federal medical centre in the area.
A statement on Monday by Ango Bally, chairman of the group, highlighted the collaborative efforts of Uba Sani, the state governor, Sunday Katung, senator representing Kaduna south; and Amos Magaji, member representing Zango Kataf; who played key roles in facilitating the passage of the bills.
“We are delighted to note that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consented to the two pivotal bills: the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, sponsored by Senator Katung, and the creation of a Federal Medical Centre, initiated by Hon. Magaji, respectively,” Bally said.
“These landmark developments are poised to transform the socio-economic, educational landscape and easy access to quality and affordable healthcare by the people of Southern Kaduna region in particular, the State and Nigeria at large.”

The Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, which is also expected to have a campus in Manchok, Kaura LGA, will provide access to quality education and technical expertise for the youth, positioning the region as a hub for innovation and skills development.
Bally described the approval of the federal university in Southern Kaduna as a symbol of hope and inclusivity, marking a “significant step away from decades of marginalisation”.
