Journalists at Glory FM 97.1 in Bayelsa state, have protested the killing of Famous Giobaro, a journalist who worked at the radio station.
On Sunday, unknown gunmen invaded the residence of Giobaro, a desk editor at the station, and shot him to death.
Timiebi Ebiye, news director of the station, urged the police to find the killers of Giobaro.
According to NAN, some of the placards which the deceased’s colleagues wielded during the protest: ‘Why kill a Journalist?’, ‘Police, Fish out Famous Killers’, ‘Government, ensure security in the state’ and ‘We are mourning’.

Speaking at the rally, John Idumange, general manager of the Radio station, said the management would improve on security.
He urged staff to come up with information that would help police unmask the killers of Giobaro.
Idumange said the management was still in shock over the death of “one of its dedicated editors”.

On his part, David Emiebor, chairman of the state’s Radio Television Theatre and Art Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), condoled with the Nigeria Union of Journalists over the death of Giobaro and also called on the police to find the killers.
