Godswil Akpabio, the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom state, is currently receiving treatment at the national hospital, Abuja, where he was rushed to after his car was involved in an accident in the federal capital territory.
A doctor at the hospital confirmed the development to TheCable on phone, but declined to giver further information.
A second source at the hospital told said Akpabio, now the minority leader of the senate, was “doing okay” as he only suffered shock following the accident, which occurred at Bolingo Hotel junction along the airport road.
Tayo Hastrup, spokesman of the hospital, confirmed the incident to TheCable, simply saying that Akpabio was “fine and responding well”.
