The 12 governors backing Muhammadu Buhari for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently meeting with him at Lagos House, Marina, Lagos, to strategise for the primary, TheCable understands.
The governors had earlier met at an office in Victoria Island on Tuesday night to take a position after a marathon session, overseen by APC national leader, Bola Tinubu.
The venue of the presidential convention is all set and the delegates are arriving the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, in batches.
At the Lagos House meeting, it was agreed that everything should be done to ensure an orderly and transparent convention to avoid any negative publicity that could damage the image of the party.

“The governors have assured Buhari that they will mobilise the delegates from their states to vote for him. They told him they believe he is the man Nigeria needs at these critical times and their decision is purely in the national interest,” an insider informed TheCable.
Those in support of Buhari, as reported by TheCable earlier, are: Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers).
The two other governors, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (Kano) and Rochas Okorocha (Imo), are also contesting for the presidential ticket, but there are strong speculations that they may withdraw to team up with the Buhari camp.
