President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday evening went into a meeting with the Femi Gbajabiamila faction of the house of representatives.
Gbajabiamila, the preferred candidate of the APC hierarchy for speaker, lost narrowly to Yakubu Dogara, who was backed by the PDP and other APC members.
But the house has not known peace since then, unable to pick its principals officers amidst a brawl last week.
Wednesday night’s meeting was brokered by Abu Ibrahim, a senator from Katsina state.

Gbajabiamila led 29 other reps loyal to him to the meeting at the conference hall of the first lady at the presidential villa.
The meeting started around 9.55pm with the arrival of Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
The lawmakers, from the six geo-political zones, arrived the venue in two white Coaster buses.

President Buhari should know that as the number one citizen of the most populous black nation on earth, and as an old man, he must be the man of his words. This I say, because, Mr. Buhari has told the nation, sometime last month, that he will interfere in the politics of the National Assembly. But now he is holding meetings with the factions of Senator Lawan and Senator Gbajabiamila when he(Buhari) had not congratulate the Senate President and Speaker till this moment for their victories over the elected ones of APC! My candid advise to our president is that, he should not reduce himself to the leader of APC but he must act according to the Nigerian constitution as the legitimate leader of Nigeria that he is and not act otherwise. He must remember that Nigerians made him their President via APC, and not APC that made him the President of this country via Nigerians! “Sai Baba”, please, behave like the “Sai Baba” of all by the Nigerian document and not the Sai Baba of some according to the APC constitution!
@Kristol, President Buhari has not acted out of order by meeting with Senator Lawan and Hon. Gbajabiamila factions. He is the leader of the party and he has every right to take every necessary step to ensure peace and harmony in his party. Besides, he doesn’t need to congratulate the Speaker and especially Senator Saraki who openly defied their party’s directives and aligned with the opposition to upstage their party. Yes, “Nigerians made him their President via APC” to better the life of Nigerians through implementation of the APC manifestoes but the truth is, this cannot be achieved if those who should support him are already indirectly at daggers drawn with him. The Nigerian constitution does not forbid the Nigerian President from meeting with any of his party members who can help him to achieve his vision.
Infact,@john this is a good talk,then
@people that is cretisizing buhari please lets stop it and continue to pray for this country and our president
